This Sword's Background
 
This sword dates from the 1568-1600s.
The scabbard is in good condition. The family crest of the Fujiwara clan on the scabbard has the Noborifuji crest in six places on the front and back.
 
The koshi-himo (waist cord) and the handle cord have been rewound due to severe deterioration. The scabbard is in good condition, but there is a small peeling of lacquer on the tip of the scabbard.
As for the sword blade, the shape is in good condition. The ripples are hard to see but will become clearer after resharpening.
